Chuva de Bênçãos

This week was super good. It also rained a lot. All my proselyting stuff smells like mold, but that's ok. Sister Torres and I are teaching a lot of people, but none of them were really progressing. So, last weekend, we fasted that they could grow in their faith and have a desire to learn more. And this week, that prayer was really answered. We weren't able to find a whole lot of new people to teach, but our days were filled with compromissos.

Silvana told us that she feels like she´s received an answer about the Book of Mormon, and that is driving her to keep coming to church. She is super sweet. Every time that we go to her house to teach her, she doesn´t let us leave until we´ve eaten. Even when we aren't hungry. But that´s how Brazilians show their love and appreciation.

On Saturday night, we just had a little bit of time left so we went to visit a family that we're teaching. The son, Jurandilson, was out in front of the house with a friend. We invited them both to come to church. And then, a miracle happened, and they came mesmo. And they liked it a lot and they want to come back next week. So that was awesome. And this week is going to be awesome too, because on Friday, we're going to have a devotional thing with President Nelson!!!!!!!! He´ll be in São Paulo this weekend and he's doing a devotional with the missionaries!!!!!!!!!! So I'll tell you more about that next week. But I hope that you´re all well and that you have uma semana maravilhosa.

Love,
Sister Herron

The other day there was a little marching band just with drums. I thought it was cute so I took a picture. And that same day, to get to our lunch apointment, we had to cross a railroad, but there was a train stopped in front of where we needed to go. So we climbed up on the train. and then took a picture.

Zone Conference and Divisões!

Hello everybody! I hope you all had a great week! It was a really exciting week for me here in the mission. We had zone conference with the Zone Santos and São Vicente. It was really awesome. Our new mission President, President Harmon, has a lot of energy and a lot of good ideas. We are trying to work more with the members. Because really the work goes so much better with their help. Also this week, we had exchanges with the sisters in Parque das Bandeiras. Every time, I learn so much, and it´s always an adventure to see the work in other areas. I was in trio with Sister Ocampo and Sister Bouwhuis, who I lived with in my first area. Also, Sister Bouwhuis and I discovered that we are in fact related!!!!!!!!! So that´s kind of crazy. And we didn´t know for like 11 months of knowing each other hahaha. I hope that you are all well and know that I pray for you guys. I just have one picture this week. I should´ve taken a lot more, but oh well. It's me modeling in front of the parkinglot of church building in Jabaquara.

Love you all,
Sister Herron

Deus te cuida (God Cares for You)

Sister Alves completed 18 months the same day that I had one year, so we had a festinha in our district council. Elder Miller made sugar cookies of our names so that was yummy. Also this is the dream dessert. basically a creamfilled donut.

Hello everybody!!!

This week was a really good week. We found lots of good people to teach! We taught a rapaz named Arthur who was really excited about the Book of Mormon, and he said that he would read it all. Probably before our next visit. We´ll see, but that would be super awesome.

This week I was thinking a lot about how everybody is different. Which is kind of obvious, but at the same time without thinking we sometimes forget. We get into routines of treating everybody the same, but everybody has different needs, different ways of thinking. Maybe one thing we say to someone is a compliment, but for someone else it´s an insult. Or we say something to help someone and it works, but with someone else, it doesn´t. That´s why it´s so important that we can have the gift of the Holy Ghost. There isn´t a set way to be perfect, so we need to be obedient to the revelation that we receive. That´s all. I love you all, and Deus te cuida.
