Conferência Multi-Zona

Olá, gente! I hope that you are all well. This week was an exciting one for me. Sister Torres and I are still trying to get around our new area and find people to teach. But it´s good. We had a fun experience of going to another city without meaning to because we took the wrong bus. But it all turned out in the end.

We also had a Conference with the entire mission, which was really cool. I saw lots of people that I haven’t seen in months. Infelizmente, it was the last conference that we will have with President and Sister Obata. They are a great blessing in our mission, and it will be very sad when they leave. But it will be interesting to see what the new mission president has to bring to our mission.

Com muito amor,

A New Area and a New Companion!

Hello everybody!

This week was quite an adventure for me! Monday, I worked with another sister who would train, Sister Pessoa and that was fun. It´s always interesting to work with someone different and see what they do well and ideas that they have. Then on Tuesday, we went back to the mission office and got our filhinhas!!!! My new companion is Sister Torres. She´s from Peru, and she´s super cute. She´s very excited to work and learn. So that´s good. Makes my job easier.

This week it finally cooled down a bit and rained a lot. I don´t know if Sister Torres has seen so much rain in her life. She heard her first thunder this week.

But now we are in Cubatão! This area is really beautiful  in my opinion. We´re trying to talk to everyone here, but sadly we´ve gotten a lot of 'no's and maybe another day. So it´s been a trabalho to stay positive and excited for Sister Torres too. But this week is going to be great. We´re going to work a lot and we will have an entire mission conference this week so that´s super exciting! But I hope you all have a fabulous week, and look to find ways to help in the missionary work in your ward!

Love you all!

The Sabbath Day

To be a missionary is interesting. We worry so much about other people that we don´t have time to worry about ourselves. We show people the path to happiness and to return to live with their Heavenly Father, yet there are many different reactions. Sometimes they´ll cry in gratitude, and yet other times they´ll choose to go the other direction. But that was the Father´s plan. That we can choose. But, everyone deserves to have that chance.

One thing I´ve learned repeatedly in this area is the importance of the Sabbath day, going to church, and taking the sacrament. Throughout the week, my companion and I invite everyone to go to church. This is crucial. How can we gain a testimony that this is the true church of God if we don´t go--physically and spiritually. Unfortunately, many people don´t accept our invitation, or they decide in the last minute that to sleep an extra hour is more important. They miss out on a spiritual experience that could change their lives. For us, that is frustrating. But even with the disappointments of people not being able to come to church, Sundays are always blessed. The Spirit is strong, and many small miracles always happen--references from members, peace, açai, baptismal dates, etc.

We need to do our little part. Even if others don´t do their part and leave you frustrated, the Lord will bless you for your dedication. Nothing is beyond the Father´s sight.

Sorry, I don´t have any pictures for this week. I´ll definitely send some next week!

Love you all,
Sister Herron
